And before Orland Park Illinois Jiu Jitsu speaks about the benefits you can get, it is but proper to
satisfy your curiosity surrounding BJJ’s history and you can say that Jiu Jitsu really has an interesting one
especially when you read of different countries linked to it like India, China, and Japan but then how come it
was somewhat ‘owned’ by Brazil thus Brazilian Jiu Jitsu came to the picture.
As its principle speaks for itself wherein it promotes the idea that a smaller, weaker person can effectively
defend himself against a much bigger, stronger attacker as he put some leverage and proper techniques to it; BJJ or
Jiu-Jitsu (gentle art) can be traced back to India originating more than 200 years before Christ and where
it was created and practiced mostly by the Buddhist monks as a form of martial art of self-defense in the premise
that one does not need to depend on strength nor weapons because these monks could not use any sort of weapons to
protect their lives against the attacks of barbarians. By and by, Buddhism extended to different parts of the world
like China until it arrived finally in Japan and gained popularity. With the samurai clans in Japan who adopted
Jiu-Jitsu Orland Park as their own traditional style, as years went by they split the techniques and
developed other martial arts styles including judo, akido, and karate to name a few.
The art began with Mitsuyo Maeda, an expert Japanese judoka and member of the Kodokan. Maeda was one of the five
Kodokan’s top groundwork experts that judo’s founder Kano Jigoro sent overseas to spread his art to the world. And
in November 14, 1914, Maeda arrived in Brazil wherein later on he met Gastao Gracie, a Brazilian scholar and
politician of Scottish descent, and his family who took an interest in his skills. As an expression of Maeda’s
gratitude for Gracie’s assistance, Maeda taught the Brazilian’s oldest son, Carlos, the essential secrets of
Jiu-Jitsu. Gracie and his family began adapting his fighting skills and combining them with a strict dietary plan
to gain strength. Gracie’s techniques becamse so unique that Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu took on its own form, independent
of the original Japanese version; and so in 1925 they opened the first Jiu-Jitsu academy in Brazil.
The most notable technique BJJ uses is by applying joint-locks and chokeholds to defeat another person and it
can also be trained for sport grappling tournaments, self-defense and mixed martial arts like that in Lisle Jiu
Jitsu. Sparring and live drilling play a major role in training, and the paramount is placed on performance,
especially in competitions. And because Jiu-Jitsu Forest Park is an art that relies on these techniques and skills, whatever
your age, goals, and experience are, Chicago Jiu Jitsu can go further by saying there are indeed many physical and mental
benefits. Children, Adults and even those engaged in real tournaments can have a variety of what they can gain
